We want everyone to be able to use BlackExpat.com, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, captions or screen magnification.
What we aim for
We work toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA. The site is built on Wix, which provides keyboard navigation, screen-reader labels and visible focus on its standard parts.
What we do
Pages use headings in order, so screen readers can jump between sections.
Images that carry meaning have text descriptions.
Text is set in sizes and colors chosen to be readable.
Menus, buttons, forms and member pages can be used with a keyboard.
Where we fall short
Some content, such as embedded videos, comes from other platforms, and we don’t control how accessible it is.
Posts written by members may not include image descriptions.
Older pages may not meet every standard yet. We fix problems as we find them.
